You will need to perform the "switch test" which is where you switch the hoses at the pump so that the right controller is controlling the left chamber and vice versa. Disconnect the hoses from the pump itself which is located under the pillow top, not from the air chamber itself since they are permanently attached.
This will allow you to identify whether the leak is coming from the pump or the chamber. If the hoses are switched and the leak switches sides as well, then the pump is leaking. If the hoses are switched and the leak remains in the same chamber, then the chamber is leaking.
If you have determined by performing the switch test that your pump is leaking, you will need to replace the pump with the American National Mfg. brand version. A replacement digital pump can be purchased from American National Mfg. with a new three year warranty. All connectors with be included.
If you have determined by performing the switch test that your air chamber is leaking, you will need to replace the air chamber. The air chamber can be replaced at a prorated cost of 5% per year after the date of purchase to the original purchaser.
First, disconnect the hoses that go to the air chambers from the air pump. If the pump now works with the hoses disconnected, then you need to examine the hoses all the way back to the air chambers and look for any kinks or twists in the line. If a kink or twist is located, straighten the hose. Then you can reattach the hoses to the air pump and retest for inflation.
If the pump does not work with the hoses disconnected, you will need to perform the “switch test” to determine if the pump is leaking, or if the air chamber is leaking. See question 1 for how to perform the switch test.
Verify that power is going to the control unit.
If a noise is coming from the unit, perform the switch test and see if it stops. See question 1 for how to perform the switch test.
Mold issues are not covered under the warranty. We recommend cleaning the pillow top or cover with an antibacterial detergent and water in a spray bottle, let air dry completely and reassemble. You can also contact us to purchase a mold barrier.
Foam impressions are not covered under warranty. Lumpy beds are 99% of the time caused by foam breakdown. We always recommend the foam be flipped and/or rotated every 6 months.
A replacement "visco" foam pad can be purchased directly through us or through a retail store like Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Wal-Mart, Cosco, or Sam's Club. To purchase through a retailer, you will need the accurate bed measurements which are listed below.
Stretching and deformation of the material will happen with normal wear and tear. Since the chambers have stretched out of the normal state, they will need to be replaced.
Nautilus Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that this Nautilus FITRest (mattress and/or foundation) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of twenty years from the original purchase date. This warranty does not cover conditions resulting from normal wear and tear. Conditions resulting from normal wear and tear include, but are not limited to: mattress cover compression, compression of foam, or discoloration of foam or air chambers. Electronic components are warranted for a period of five years. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including without limitation, and warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
